Use

Beware of slugs, which may devour the plant as it begins to emerge. Planting in full sun will reduce the risk of mildew. The plant can be staked in windy areas.

Planting

This very hardy plant enjoys full sun and rich, deep, permeable soil.

Maintenance

Larkspur does not grow well in heavy, wet and compact soil, nor in poor, dry soil. Plant in deep, loose, rich soil that remains cool in summer but not too cold in winter, sheltered from strong winds.
