Fargesia angustissima
This medium, non-spreading bamboo has purple-green stems and slender green leaves. Its compact form makes it a good fit for small gardens as well as compact hedges and containers.

Planting
Distance the plants according to use: in a flowerbed, leave 1.8–2.2m between each plant; in hedges, leave only 1–1.4m.
Maintenance
Weed around the foot of the plant until its fallen leaves have created a natural mulch. A nitrogen fertiliser in spring and autumn will encourage growth.
