Plant in well-drained sandy, dry or gravelly soil with no standing water. Appreciates lime. Once established, Ozothamnus is quite drought-resistant.
Water regularly during the first years. After blooming, cut the plant back by 1/3 of its size to maintain a compact form. Prune older plants less severely, while maintaining a regular form. Do not prune the older wood.
