Tulbaghia violacea Silver Lace
This variety of the South African perennial has lovely, grey-green foliage streaked with white, that gives off the garlic-like odour characteristic of this plant. In summer, it flowers with lovely little tubular blossoms of pale mauve-pink that last through to autumn.

In beds, borders, rockeries and containers.
Planting
In sun or part shade, in ordinary, well-draining soil that retains some moisture in summer while the plant is flowering. Remove the plant from its container and thoroughly soak the root ball. Place the plant (not too deeply) in a hole with a mixture of loose soil, topsoil and sandtype material around the root-ball, gently tamping the earth. Water in.
Maintenance
Water well the first year. Apply an appropriate fertiliser in spring if necessary.
