Hedychium villosum tenuiflorum
This small ornamental ginger species is often found growing on trees in the mountains of its native range in China and Vietnam. It has slightly smaller versions of the tropical-looking leaves of other gingers, and produces delicate, fine-petalled white flowers late in the autumn or in early winter.

Part Shade Use
In beds and borders in mild climates, or in a container that may be brought into a conservatory in winter.
Planting
In part shade, protected from strong wind, in humus-rich, well-draining soil.
Maintenance
Water regularly the first year. In cold regions, mulch the stump before winter, or bring the plant into a well-lit and frost-protected area if growing in a pot.
