Planting
In sun or part shade, sheltered from cold winds, in light, sandy, acidic and very well-draining soil. Remove the plant from its container and thoroughly soak the root ball. Place the plant (not too deeply) in a hole with a mixture of loose soil, sand-type material and topsoil around the root-ball, gently tamping the earth. Water in.
Maintenance
Prune after flowering to maintain a compact form. Fertiliser is not necessary (for container plantings, apply a specialised Protea fertiliser). Mulch around the base of the plant to discourage weeds.
