Trachelospermum Chili and Vanilla®
(asiaticum) This climbing plant is a variety of the Asiatic yellow-flowering jasmine. It flowers in summer with a profusion of creamy-yellow, star-shaped blossoms that give off a heady, vanilla-like fragrance through into autumn. Attractive evergreen foliage.

Sun Use
On trellises, fences, and pergolas, or in containers.
Planting
In full sun, in well-draining soil with very little lime that retains some moisture year-round. Dig a hole three times the size of the root ball. Remove the plant from its container and thoroughly soak the root ball. Half-fill the hole with a mixture of 2/3 acidic compost and 1/3 garden soil enriched with manure. Place the plant (not too deeply) in the hole and continue filling around the root ball. Water well after planting.
Maintenance
Water frequently during the first year. The plant may be lightly pruned at the end of winter if necessary.
