Acer Ueno yama
This lovely, upright variety has luminous foliage that changes with the seasons: from golden-yellow in spring, to bright green in summer, and flaming orange and red in autumn. One of the only Japanese Maple varieties to be quite sun tolerant.

Part Shade / Sun Use
As an isolated lawn specimen or in association with evergreen shrubs such as Rhododendrons, Japanese Azaleas, Camellias, etc.
Planting
In sun or part shade, in loose, neutral to acid soil. Add acidic compost or peat at the time of planting. Choose a location with protection from strong winds.
Maintenance
Japanese Maples are resistant to most parasites if well-planted. As a rule, they do not enjoy pruning, which should therefore be performed minimally.
