Leucadendron Fireglow

A semi-hardy protea from South Africa, this selection forms a small ring of bracts in all shades of yellow through reddish-purple. Works well as a cut flower.
1.50 (à 10 ans)

In Mediterranean-themed shrubberies in coastal climates, or in containers.

In full sun, protected from cold winds, in very well-drained, acid soil. Remove the plant from its container and thoroughly soak the root ball. Place the plant (not too deeply) in a hole with a mixture of loose soil, sand and topsoil around the root-ball, gently tamping the earth. Water in.

Prune after flowering to keep a compact form. Fertiliser is not necessary (if planted in a container, apply a specialised Protea fertiliser). If planted, mulching is preferable to mechanical weeding.
