Ilex Gentle
A compact and slow-growing blue holly variety with an attractive, rounded compact habit. Its dark-green glossy leaves warm to purple from late autumn until spring. The pink springtime blossoms do not produce berries.

Part Shade / Sun Use
As an isolated lawn specimen or in association with evergreen shrubs such as Rhododendrons, Japanese Azaleas, Camellias, etc.
Planting
Remove the plant from its container and thoroughly soak the root ball. Place the plant (not too deeply) in a hole with a mixture of loose soil and topsoil around the root-ball, gently tamping the earth. Water in. Avoid lime in the soil.
Maintenance
Water well the first year. Apply an appropriate fertiliser in spring.
