A unusual bulb from South Africa, this plant is also known as the forest lily. It blooms with a dense cluster of tubular, long-lasting flowers in various shades of pink from late winter through early spring. Broad, fleshy leaves form a rosette at the base of the plant which may die back in summer and reappear in late summer or autumn.

Use
Use as a patio plant or in "exotic" shrubberies.
Planting
Remove the plant from its container and thoroughly soak the root ball. Place the plant (not too deeply) in a hole with a mixture of loose soil, sand and topsoil around the root-ball, gently tamping the earth. Water in.
Maintenance
Water well during the first year. Do not leave in the ground in winter in if the soil is soaked.
